Final graduation
Our Mission is to know Jesus as Savior,
to serve him, and to proclaim him.

Jesus is the greatest teacher who ever lived. One of Jesus' techniques was to relate spiritual ideas to common everyday life. Pensamientos (afterthought) is an attempt to follow Jesus' method of teaching. Its title is in Spanish because we recognize the importance of multi-culturalism. We hope to translate some of these messages into Spanish soon.

Final graduation -- Pensamientos (afterthought)

For some of us high school graduation may seem like a long time ago. Other important mile-stones in our life like marriage, the birth of our children, buying our first house may also be events from the past. But what about the future? Do we have anything to look forward to in the future? Are our best days behind us or ahead of us? I'm only fifty but I know that physically my best days are over. I will probably never again be able to run a mile in under seven minutes. But I refuse to believe that God is finished with me. I know that with God's help I can still jump spiritual hurdles and climb spiritual mountains. Through prayer and dedication to the things of God, I know that I can still accomplish significant work for God.

I'm not ready for that final graduation into the presence of God. As much as I might want to see Jesus and be with Jesus I know that he has much unfinished work for me to do.

What about you? Do you believe that your best days for God are over? Don't believe that for a minute. As long as you have life and breath, God expects you to be in the fight. The fights not over until you hear the referee give you the ten count. Until then you might be down but you can always get back up. We must go down swinging. We must stay in the ring and fight with every last drop of sweat and blood. Don't give in to a life of ease and say its time for the young people to take over. We need everyone--young and old alike--to pull the halyards, hoist the sails, and let the Spirit of God take us out to the deep water where Jesus commands us to put out the nets. Then even when we are tired and think that the best of the day is over what happens? Jesus allows us to accomplish something greater and more tremendous than anything we've ever experienced in the past. As great as the past may be, nothing can compare to the work that God has yet for you to accomplish. All your experience, wisdom, and faith must come into play in days ahead so that you can accomplish the work that only you can do. The future is now and now is the time to seek the Lord and serve him with all our heart.

Fighting the good fight for Jesus,

Pastor Steve
