Pensamientos para hoy (afterthought for today)
Time doesn't stop
June has just flown by and now we're already into July. The Christian singer, songwriter, and guitarist Phil Keaggy wrote a song called "Time". In the song he says:
Most people think he'll never stop
He'll go on perpetually,
But old man time is running out
And he'll cease eventually.
Time doesn't stand still; it runs by somehow seeming to run faster as we get slower. If we don't watch out, life will pass us by and we'll be wondering where did it all go? Trying to hold on to time is like trying to grab water with our hands. It just slips by. Time is precious. Time is one of our most valuable resources, but it slips away from us so God tells us to make the best use of our time (Ephesians 5:16).
Since time is running by so fast, I'm trying to get a jump on planning our fall ministries. We have a lot that will get started soon: Sunday School, ESL, small groups, Tuesday Ladies Bible study (let me catch my breath), International Sunday, Ladies luncheon, youth group, and the Sunday School breakfast and rally (to see the exact dates for these ministries and events go to Ministries).
All these events and ministries take a tremendous amount of time to plan and organize and they'll be here before we know it. So I'm asking you to please pray for me and for the other church leaders that we won't let the time get away from us, but we'll use our time wisely and be ready for the start of a new and exciting ministry year.
Your loving pastor,
Pastor Steve

Jesus is the greatest teacher who ever lived. One of Jesus' techniques was to relate spiritual ideas to common everyday life. Pensamientos (afterthought) is an attempt to follow Jesus' method of teaching. Its title is in Spanish because we recognize the importance of multi-culturalism. We hope to translate some of these messages into Spanish soon.
